Episode 52: Jerry Huang – Impact Silver – Leverage Advantage with Mining Equities

Jerry is Director of Corporate Development and Investor Relations for Impact Silver Corporation. Impact has producing mines located two hours south of Mexico City in an area known as the Zacualpan Silver District. This area was a producing region 500 years ago with over 4,500 historic silver mines.

They are continuing to explore and develop in the region, and over the last ten years, they have raised 30 million in capital from investors. They have used that capital to grow the project organically.

So far they have produced over 160 million in revenue with 9 million ounces of silver. The company has a 30 million market cap with annual revenue of 15 million. Their current break-even point is around $14.00 an ounce silver. So they are making a little bit of money each year at current prices.

They are excited about using some of the revenue to continue exploration throughout 2018. They have 360 square kilometers of land with numerous targets of interest, and they have had some very promising drill results recently.

Jerry says that when ten-year treasury rates go higher, it generally has a negative impact on the resource sector. However, in the last five years, the rates have been low, and the resource sector has not benefitted. He doesn’t feel that higher interest rates will adversely affect the resource market.

He points out that if the price of silver were to double than the company would become far more profitable and that would generate much larger profits for investors than just holding physical silver. You get a lot more leverage holding mining equities.

Jerry says they have only raised money three times in the last ten years. They have a good management team, and they are all shareholders in the company.

They are traded on the TSXV as IPT.V and on OTC:ISVLF in the United States.
